At Roedan, we’ve been developing tools that make it easier to connect, monitor and refine our Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) devices. One of these tools, Blue Banana, has become a central part of that process.
Originally created to support the Scorpion Data Logger, Blue Banana has since evolved into a flexible and modular iOS framework that now underpins much of our BLE testing and development work. It will also serve as our main app for testing Yaftie features going forward.

Modular Framework
The app’s modular design allows new BLE devices to be integrated quickly and efficiently.
We have continued to build a library of ready-made services that can be shared across multiple device types, allowing us to quickly support common protocols. This aligns with how we structure the device applications, allowing code reuse, thus speeding up development for our customers.
Multi-Device Support
Blue Banana can communicate with several devices simultaneously. This capability allows for the collection of live telemetry and debug data across devices, which can later be compared offline for analysis and optimisation.
From Scorpion to a Broader Platform
While it began as a dedicated solution for the Scorpion Data Logger, Blue Banana now supports all of Roedan’s Bluetooth-enabled developments. Its adaptable structure has turned it into a shared platform for testing, data gathering and integration across our projects.
As we continue building on Yaftie and other connected technologies, Blue Banana will remain at the centre of Roedan’s BLE testing and feature development.
