From Partnership to Pioneering Innovation
Roedan was established in 2010 as a partnership between Andrew Hurd and Christopher Cope, two experienced software consultants passionate about advancing multidisciplinary systems from concept to release. Their initial journey began with a shared commitment to innovation, leveraging their expertise to create impactful solutions in telecommunications, telematics, and embedded systems.
1994–2004
Foundations were laid as Andy and Chris pursued academic and early professional successes, including pivotal roles in developing 3G and GPRS technologies.
2010
The formation of Roedan Embedded Systems marked a turning point, with the company's initial achievement being the firmware design for a modular lithium-ion battery system.
2012–2015
Roedan became a trusted software consultancy for multinational R&D projects, delivering embedded solutions across diverse industries and expanding rapidly to accommodate its growing team.
2016–2018
Collaborations with innovative partners, such as Intento Solutions, led to unique products like the Pic n Mix vending machine and a groundbreaking telematics partnership.
2020–2023
Roedan emerged as a leader in ultra-low-power technology, developing solar-powered devices and enhancing in-house prototyping capabilities to meet the demands of a growing portfolio.

As Director at Roedan, Andrew is responsible for creating and managing project proposals, transforming concepts into tangible designs, overseeing the design, implementation, and testing of embedded software, and managing customer relationships to ensure successful collaboration and the delivery of high-quality, tailored solutions.

Over the years, I’ve tackled diverse challenges, from coding to welding, and spearheaded innovations like the "mirror" protection system. Now, as a director, I bring that same problem-solving passion to leading an engineering business with vision and technical expertise.“
Chris leads Roedan's hardware design, software development, and technical infrastructure operations, playing a pivotal role in shaping the company’s direction and overseeing key technical functions.
Through his expertise, Chris takes a hands-on approach in:
